Users will now be able to synchronize music playback across Echo devices to play songs from Amazon Music, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and Pandora, with support for Spotify and Sirius coming soon.

This workaround is employed by MyMedia (and mentioned on their web page) and I’ve used it to direct the bbc and other skills in a similar manner to play on stereo pairs and multi room music groups.Īnother workaround some have suggested is to start playing music from another streaming source such as Amazon music and maybe even TuneIn on a multi room music group and when it starts, and without stopping, make your skill request and it piggy backs on the multi room group. Then just ask Alexa to ask Plex to play as normal, without specifying any further details. Make sure the echo you’re asking is in a device/room group and set that group’s speaker setting to the echos/group you want to play on, defaulting it to do so without specifying the room name. You can’t directly ask Alexa to direct audio for a skill like Plex to a multi room music group, but you can try a workaround using a group preferred speaker setting.
